Three Tragic Events That Vehicle Sensors Could Have Prevented

Vehicle sensors are easy to find. You can get them on sites like Parking Dynamics and install them yourself on your car. They are mostly electromagnetic and easily fit on the back of your bumper or the under carriage of your car. If a vehicle or other object or person gets too close, an alarm sounds, similar to a car alarm. The driver then knows that it is time to stop the car.

Unfortunately, not everyone has parking sensors on their cars. Many are under the delusion that you can only have these lifesaving devices on luxury automobiles. Others are also sure that they are only for trucks or lorries. Anyone can get vehicle sensors and install them within minutes on your car.

Three very tragic incidences that recently occurred may convince you to purchase and install vehicle sensors that can tell you if someone or something is too close to your car:

An elderly pensioner was walking down the street in the rain. Hard of hearing and not well sighted, the elderly gentleman just wanted to get home. He was just passing by the house of his neighbor when he was struck down and instantly killed.

The pensioner was dead upon the scene. There was nothing that could be done. The woman who hit him ended up dying as well after nearly losing her mind from guilt. This was a tragic situation and could have been avoided had the woman only used the vehicle sensors on her car,. They would have sounded an alarm and she could have stopped the car before she hit the old man.

In another sad case, a young woman with a bright future as a concern pianist was hit in a freak parking accident at a grocery store. As the woman was putting groceries into the boot of her car, another car backed into her, shoved her forward and caused the boot to close on her hands, severing one of them. Despite their best efforts, her hand was unable to be re attached. She now works part time in the store of a chemist.

The sad thing about this case is that the man who hit her actually had the parking sensors, but had not yet installed them. Installation is simple and only takes a few minutes.

Another tragic situation occurred when another pensioner was hit by a car that was backing towards the entrance to a store where she waited for her daughter in here wheelchair. The 89 year old woman suffered only a broken leg but ended up with complications after various hospital visits and did end up succumbing to pneumonia.

There are other tragic circumstances that perhaps do not make the rounds on the online news. They involve children, adults and pets who get run over by cars that do not have parking sensors. Fortunately, more people are realizing how important these devices are and how they can truly save lives.

The tragedies that are listed above all had some good come from them as many people ended up getting parking sensors on their cars and possibly saved lives after hearing about these incidents.

I can't believe the ease by which the parking sensor was fitted and we just love the discrete 'hidden' sensor design. What a difference the PD1 makes to both mine and my wife's parking and reversing.

The audible alert keeps our attention to a maximum level and really helps with tight parking spaces.
