Vehicle reversing sensor
Reversing your vehicle has now become an everyday challenge. Whether you are trying to park your in parking spaces that are getting tighter and garages that are always cramped, your driving skills are constantly tested.
With a little bit of help from vehicle reversing sensors, even the most unconfident of drivers can reverse their vehicles without putting a dent on their vehicle or bumping into someone. Vehicle reversing sensors can detect obstacles behind the driver while reversing and send out an audible alarm and/or visual display available with vehicle reversing sensor units.
Usually, you can find quite a few types and designs for vehicle reversing sensors. However, vehicle reversing sensors are generally divided into three or four broad categories. There are audio vehicle reversing sensors, video vehicle reversing sensors, combination vehicle reversing sensors and wireless vehicle reversing sensors. These vehicle reversing sensors are usually designed to be mounted on bumper of your car.
The audio vehicle reversing sensors give out an audio alarm or beep when the bumper of the car approaches any obstacle. The pitch of the signal increases as the distance between the car and the obstacle decreases.
If a visual display unit is available with the vehicle reversing sensor, then it shows a visual signal to the driver. The display unit is usually mounted on the dashboard. A combination vehicle reversing sensor combines both these options and gives out a sound as will as displays a video signal.
A wireless vehicle reversing sensor has usually radars or sonar that can be mounted on the bumper.
Vehicle reversing sensors are also available in various colours. Most manufacturers offer vehicle reversing sensors that can be coated with the matching paint job that is present on your vehicle. This allows cars who have a unique and customised paint job to also go for vehicle reversing sensors.
The vehicle reversing sensors use ultrasonic technology in order to calculate the exact position of an object that may fall within its detection range. Vehicle reversing sensors get automatically activated when the driver selects the reverse gear.
Vehicle reversing sensors are especially useful when backing up from your garage or your local grocery store’s or mall’s parking lot, which are comparatively more crowded. Most of the luxury cars come fitted with vehicle reversing sensors. However, now-a-days, many small car owners are opting for getting a vehicle reversing sensor fitted in their vehicles as well.

Testimonials
I can't believe the ease by which the parking sensor was fitted and we just love the discrete 'hidden' sensor design. What a difference the PD1 makes to both mine and my wife's parking and reversing.
The audible alert keeps our attention to a maximum level and really helps with tight parking spaces.
