Stop Reversing Accidents: Use Parking Aids

There are several reasons reversing accidents take place. Sometimes it is driver error because they are not paying attention, but sometimes reversing accidents are a result of something a bit out of our control. For example in one reversing accident I saw a woman was wearing a block high heel style shoe. The shoe caught on the floor mat and because she wasn’t quick enough she hit another vehicle rather than getting into the parking space. It doesn’t really matter how reversing accidents occur. The fact that parking accidents occur frequently is something you need to consider when protecting your vehicle from damage. Parking safety should be your main concern not only to avoid car damage, but also to avoid insurance claims.

The answer to most of the reversing accidents lies in parking aids. Parking aids provide parking safety in a number of situations. While it won’t help if your foot gets caught in a mat it can help you know where your bumpers are in relation to any object or person around you. The car parking aids also help you with your blind spots. While car parking sensors or parking aids can’t navigate the car for you they can help you determine where you are positioned and whether you need to change it. For example in parallel parking you have to first back into the space then make sure you don’t hit your front bumper. A lot of vehicles have a long hood, which makes gauging the closeness of the bumper difficult.
One car parking sensor on the market is the electromagnetic parking sensor from Parking Dynamics. The PD1 parking sensor offers a better range of detection on the entire bumper than other models. They are also very easy to install as no holes parking sensors. It means they just attach to the back of the bumper.

Customer Testimonials

I can't believe the ease by which the parking sensor was fitted and we just love the discrete 'hidden' sensor design. What a difference the PD1 makes to both mine and my wife's parking and reversing.

The audible alert keeps our attention to a maximum level and really helps with tight parking spaces.
