Reverse Vehicle Sensors Saved My Child!

My daughter, Emma, is three years old and quite a handful. Like most young children, she is very quick and lively. One day, I was bringing her in from an outing and she darted away from me, as children will often do, towards the driveway of my neighbor.

I looked on in horror and screamed as I saw what was about to transpire. My three year old daughter was about to be crushed under the wheels of a car and I could not get to her in time. I dropped my bag of groceries and began running, my heart pounding, at the terrible scene unfolding before my eyes.

All of a sudden, the car stopped. My neighbor got out to look behind her vehicle and saw my little girl behind the car. I thought she was going to faint. Both of us were in tears as I finally reached my daughter. My neighbor then told me that had it not been for her reverse vehicle sensors, she would not have known that my daughter was behind her car.

The reverse vehicle sensors that had been installed only a week before on her car actually saved my child. Had my neighbor not had the foresight to place these easy to install vehicle sensors on the rear bumper of her car, my daughter quite easily could have been killed. Such an occurrence is not rare in the UK.

As a matter of fact, a few months prior to this incident, a man named Mr. St. John was killed as he walked in back of a car pulling out of a driveway. This incident was publicized in the press and was one of the reasons why my neighbor decided to get vehicle sensors for her car.

The way that vehicle sensors such as those made by Parking Dynamics work is that they are discreetly attached to the bumpers of the car. They can also be attached under the doors of either side of the car as well. When an object gets into close proximity of the sensor, it makes a loud beeping noise. This signals the driver that something is wrong.

The tragedy in the St. John case fortunately prompted my neighbor to get these reverse vehicle sensors. As this was all over the news and many people felt that this tragedy could easily have been avoided had the parking sensors been installed on the car of the woman who hit Mr. St. John, my neighbor was not the only one who promptly went out to get parking sensors.

She only got reverse vehicle sensors in that she felt that she did not need one in the front of her car and was more concerned about the back. Because they are so inexpensive, however, many people opt to get them on both front and back bumpers.

There is no doubt in my mind that reverse vehicle sensors saved the life of my child. Had it not been for the publicity surrounding the case of that unfortunate pensioner who was run over and killed by a car without vehicle sensors, my neighbor would not have thought to a reverse vehicle sensor on her car and my daughter might not be alive today.

I can't believe the ease by which the parking sensor was fitted and we just love the discrete 'hidden' sensor design. What a difference the PD1 makes to both mine and my wife's parking and reversing.

The audible alert keeps our attention to a maximum level and really helps with tight parking spaces.
