Car Parking Sensors

Car parking sensors are safety devices used on a car for the purpose of safely parking and reversing cars. According to car accident statistics, most of the accidents occur when a driver fails to accurately judge the distance between the car and the obstacle, which may even be a child!

This is why car parking sensors are a necessity now-a-days for drivers of all types of automobiles, as car parking sensors allow them to backup their vehicles safely while parking. These car parking sensors alert the driver regarding any obstacles that may be placed in their parking path. Car parking sensors are also sometimes referred to as backup sensors or parking sonar.

Car parking sensors can be distinguished on the basis of technology, functionality, features, and other design related elements. Though usually, a car parking sensor is installed on the bumper or bracket of the car. Car parking sensors are also differentiated as front and rear car parking sensors, which can be installed at the front and rear panel of your vehicle, respectively.

Some popular types of car parking sensors are buzzer, wireless, digital and camera and monitor enabled parking sensors. Reverse car parking sensors are also available that are essentially designed to be mounted on the rear of the vehicle.

Car parking sensors use ultrasonic waves to detect any potential obstructions. A controller of the car parking sensor is installed inside the car to receive the signal from the car parking sensor. This signal is then sent to a speaker, an LCD unit or a speaker and display combination unit. The speaker of the car parking sensor emits a warning tone, usually a beep, and if a display is also attached, it will usually show lines as a signal, depending on the model.

Usual settings are meant to indicate that the fewer the lines, the closer is the object. For a combination system, the reverse parking sensor emits both audio and visual alarm signals. The user has the option to program the frequency of reverse parking sensors and the distance specifications.

Car parking sensors are available in various models and types. Car parking sensors are usually not very expensive. You can choose a car parking sensor that fits your requirement by visiting the accessory section of the website of your car company. You can also surf the net for websites that offer a comparison of various car accessories including car parking sensors.

Customer Testimonials

I can't believe the ease by which the parking sensor was fitted and we just love the discrete 'hidden' sensor design. What a difference the PD1 makes to both mine and my wife's parking and reversing.

The audible alert keeps our attention to a maximum level and really helps with tight parking spaces.
