An Alfa Romeo Parking Sensor Saved Me

I was a little skeptical about parking sensors. I kept hearing about them all of the time on the news and about how a few people died from being hit by cars that were pulling out of garages or car parks. I felt that these people were stupid and that it could never happen to me.

I was walking home from school one day and my boyfriend called me on my mobile. We had just had a fight and I thought that he wanted to make it up. Instead, he wanted to confess that he had been seeing some girl behind my back for quite some time. I was upset and yelling at him on the phone and not really watching where I was going.

Before I knew it, a car, like the type that James Bond used to drive, came pulling out of a driveway and zooming towards me. I barely had time to scream but then the driver just slammed on the brakes. I stood there shaking until I realized that I had almost gotten run over.

The owner of the Alfa Romeo came out of the car and gave me a hug. She was a nice lady and she asked me to sit down and then fetched me a cup of tea because she saw that I was shaking so much. I asked her how she knew to stop and she told me that her Alfa Romeo parking sensor that she had installed on her rear bumper made a noise when the car got close to me. She had been in a hurry and was not really looking out of the rearview when she almost hit me. We were both really lucky.

It was funny that this actually worked out to be a babysitting job for me. The lady was a single mum and had a couple of little kids. I liked babysitting for the kids. I talked to my dad about the car and he wanted to see the Alfa Romeo parking sensor that saved my life. He went on over one day to take a look at how they were installed and then went on to some site called Parking Dynamics and got some parking sensors for his car, too. Ever since my own mum died, my dad has been very protective over me and felt that he should also protect other children as well.

When my dad realized how inexpensive these parking sensors were and how easy they were to install, he was amazed and regretted not knowing about them sooner. Then something really funny happened. My dad and this lady, her name is Ginger, started really hitting it off. Soon I was babysitting so the two of them could go out. And it was not long before my dad asked her to get married.
I lost a boyfriend that day and almost lost my life. But thanks to Ginger having Alfa Romeo parking sensors on her car, I gained a new step mum and a really cute little step brother and step sister. When I get my own car, the first thing I am going to do is get parking sensors for the rear and front bumpers.

I can't believe the ease by which the parking sensor was fitted and we just love the discrete 'hidden' sensor design. What a difference the PD1 makes to both mine and my wife's parking and reversing.

The audible alert keeps our attention to a maximum level and really helps with tight parking spaces.
