PD1 Rear parking sensor provides your car with full rear bumper protection when parking and reversing, alerting you to approaching objects via an audible speaker.

When reverse gear is engaged the PD1 Rear parking sensor provides an instant, automatic, self-diagnostic function that maps out the surrounding area of your rear bumper constantly monitoring this as you reverse with 100% accuracy, providing you with 3 different audible tones (Zones) alerting you of your proximity in relation to surrounding objects!

The full length of your bumper (including the sides) is protected with an ever increasing beeping sound.

As you reverse, Zone 1 (furthest away from your vehicle) detects the approaching object first.

Zone 1: 80 to 50 cm in length - The 1st tone signals with a slow "be-be-be" sound

Zone 2: 50 to 25 cm in length - The 2nd tone is a faster "be-be-be" sound

Zone 3: 25cm and less - the 3rd tone is a constant "beeeeeep" sound

Here is what you will get if you order the Parking Dynamics PD1 Rear today!

A. The Speaker is small and at just 20mm in diameter mounts anywhere inside of the vehicle and can be run to any location. The audible tones that are emitted to alert you of the proximity of surrounding objects can be clearly heard even when mounted at the back of the vehicle close to or behind interior panels.

B. The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is the 'brain' of the PD1, and mounts securely using the supplied adhesive strip either inside of the boot or behind the vehicle bumper. The front ECU mounts under the bonnet or inside of the car, typically behind the glove box. Dimensions of this compact rear sensor unit are just (L57mm x H13mm x D33mm) and the front sensor dimensions are (L75mm x H23mm x D40mm)

C. The Antenna is a very strong and flexible adhesive metallic tape that mounts behind the bumper. Its 1cm height and 2.7m length gives you flexibility to run over bumper curves and round bumper mouldings and ensures 100% bumper coverage of even the largest vehicle, offering a full, all round protection zone. The antenna can be cut to any length in seconds.

Universal Installation Instructions are included covering the easy 3-wire installation enabling any basic DIYer to install the PD1 parking sensor without any problems making the installation simple, safe and secure.

Parking Dynamics PD1 Advantages Are Clear!

Parking Dynamics PD1 fits all Cars, Vehicles, Vans, 4x4s, MPVs, SUVs and Motor Homes giving you maximum compatibility, functionality, reliability and high performance accuracy.

The PD1 is flexible and allows you to move the sensor from vehicle to vehicle upon resale, for the minimum cost of a replacement antenna. No bumper adjustments make this ideal for Rental and Leasing companies.

Allows you to get close (10cm) to an object. Great for tight parking spaces. Ultrasonics only allow you to get 25cm away from an object making it hard to judge how close you actually are in tight spaces.

No Visible Parts, Period! The Parking Dynamics PD1 when fitted is a completely discrete and totally invisible. Only you will know it's fitted. This ensures a no-holes installation, a higher value to your car—and a more desirable car.

Being CAN bus compatible ensures the PD1 integrates seamlessly with both older conventional wiring systems and the latest intelligent (CAN Bus) multiplex wiring systems. Connect the wrong aftermarket parking sensor and it could be costly. Parking Dynamics is the solution to this dilemma!

No-Drill! The PD1 is fitted without drilling your bumper and unlike ultrasonic type parking sensors there are NO ugly sensors to be mounted in your bumper and then painted. No need to match the paint colour.

A Maintenance FREE Front and Rear parking and reverse sensor technology - No Cleaning, No Adjustment and No Painting of sensors or Constant Testing required!

100% accurate, responsive and reliable in all parking situations and weather conditions - Regardless of the conditions: Sun, Rain, Wind, Snow or Hail the PD1 works and gives you accurate feedback in real time, every time.

Parking sensors help and result in a major decrease in minor damage collisions caused when parking and reversing. This simple device will pay for itself many times over by reducing the number of small bangs in which you are involved. Completely eliminating the chance of putting your No Claims Bonus at risk!

Installation & Compatibility

Installing the PD1 Parking Sensor on cars & vehicles with a plastic bumper!

The Universal Parking Dynamics PD1 is compatible with any Car, Vehicle, Van, 4x4, MPV, SUV and Motor home that has a plastic bumper and as 99.9% of cars and vehicles have plastic bumpers, you have no need to be concerned, even if your bumper appears part metal the PD1 will work. If you are in any doubt please contact us.

The PD1 antenna is easy to fit and requires no bumper adjustments or holes ensuring a damage free installation. The antenna is cost effective to replace should you wish to move the sensor to a new car in the future or simply require a replacement.

Mounting the Electronic Control Unit (ECU):

The Rear ECU can be installed in various locations such as inside of the boot behind the trim or inside your rear bumper with the included adhesive mount. The Front ECU can be installed inside of the engine bay or behind the glove box, dashboard or trim with the included adhesive mount.

Mounting the Speaker:

Mount the parking sensor speaker using the included adhesive mount. The volume is loud enough to provide a good warning even if mounted behind your vehicles interior trim. This connects to the ECU by push fit connection. Can be extended up to 15M and will mount in any location.

Mounting the Antenna:

Mount the adhesive metallic parking sensor antenna onto the inner side of the front and/or rear bumper (depending upon which sensor option you choose) making sure the bumper surface is clean before attaching.

Ensure the terminal connector is on the side where you have located the ECU. When the antenna has been attached, covering the whole of the bumper from left to right (leaving approx 15cm from the edges); the excess length is cut off. Place a piece of the included adhesive material or tape at either end of the antenna to ensure a secure installation onto the bumper. Its recommended (but not essential) to cover antenna length with a black anti-rust protection paint that is applied to the underneath of a car chassis or similar to protect from the elements.

It is important that the antenna is installed at the highest part from the ground that corresponds to the furthest distance from the vehicle body as a precaution to prevent any interference from nearby metal parts. The recommended position of the parking sensor antenna is at least 40cm from ground level, with 50cm being optimum.

Once the bumper is removed, if your vehicle has a metal crash protection bar and the antenna will be within 3 cm's of this metal bar (once the bumper is re-fitted) you can install a 2nd Antenna (included with all PD1 sensors) to prevent any reduction in detection range or insulate the metal crash bar. This is only required on a small number of vehicles but the option is available if required. Read these 2 technical documents to learn more. DIY Installation & Bumper Removal

99.9% of car & vehicle bumpers are made of plastic making the PD1 fully compatible. Installing the Parking Dynamics PD1 car parking and reverse sensor is simple, safe and secure. Depending on your car or vehicle, the bumper may have to be removed. On some cars just loosening the bumper by releasing the locator screws will enable access for installation. If you choose a professional installation most auto electricians, car audio and security installers, mechanics and body shop technicians will remove the bumper literally in minutes.

Removal of the bumper is not as difficult as it at first may seem and is typically held on with 2-4 main bolts and screws and some locators. In a few cases rivets are used that need to be popped out and simply replaced from your dealer parts department (at a minimal cost) when re-fitting.

If required your dealer's parts department can provide an exploded view (print off) of your front and rear bumper assembly and this will show you exactly how the bumper is fixed to your car or vehicle and where any screws, locators or rivets can be found. Alternatively a Haynes Manual will detail this information.

Post sale you will receive an email of our recommended professional installers.

PD1 is 100% Compatible

Electromagnetic (PD1) or Ultrasonic Technology?

Totally unique in design, the PD1 parking and reverse sensors are a superior alternative to the older ultrasonic type sensor technology that requires you to drill 4 or 6 holes in your bumper, mounting ugly black sensors that then need painting to colour code and match the shade of your bumper... The Parking Dynamics PD1 makes this a thing of the past!

The PD1 antenna has a minimum price to replace and gives you optimum flexibility as it fits bumpers of all shapes and sizes and can run over or around uneven bumper surfaces.

New CAN Bus Systems:

Many new cars and vehicles now come with the CAN Bus multiplex wiring system fitted. The PD1 is fully CAN Bus compatible and requires no adjustment or extra accessories when installing. Beware of ultrasonic systems that require extra wiring and relay components in order to fully integrate with CAN Bus systems. Connect the wrong aftermarket parking sensor and it could be costly. The PD1 eliminates this problem!

Vehicles Fitted with a Tow Bar:

Parking Dynamics PD1 is the recommended Parking and Reverse Sensor for vehicles with a Tow bar fitted as performance is not affected. It's the only Parking Sensor available that is compatible with vehicles that have a tow bar fitted.

Vehicles with Spare Wheel on Rear Door:

The Parking Dynamics PD1 will continue to operate effectively when fitted to vehicles with a Spare Wheel fixed on the rear door such as 4x4, MPV or SUV's. It's the only Parking and Reverse Sensor available that is compatible with vehicles that have a spare wheel fixed to rear door.

Vehicles with a Metal Bumper:

The Parking Dynamics PD1 Front, Rear and Vision Parking and Reverse Sensors are not compatible with metal bumpers straight out of the box. However with a few insulating adjustments to your metal bumper, the PD1 will be fully compatible. See the Metal Bumper Installation Technical Document to learn more.

Christopher Eden: Monday 05 July, 2010

I had intended to fit this myself, following receipt of the unit and your instructions, I am glad that I went for the professional install.
My Honda Hybrid was only a couple of weeks old and I didnt relish the idea of tracing the wiring and taking ther huge bumber off.

Your installer, Gary, arrived on time, was quick and efficient and there was no evidence that anuything on my car had been dismantled.

Good job done and it really works

Tolga Kaya: Wednesday 30 June, 2010

I was looking for parking radar. I saw this product at one of BMW fanatics web site. It was a DIY and the guy was explaining everything in every details. So I decided to buy the device and install it my self.

It took me 4hrs to install. I think it is normal for a person who is not doing it everyday life. And I also payed attention to do everything like pro's.

And at last it works like charm. I only did not like the design of the vision device. In the end I cut it a little and put it int he shape that I like better.

Good product easy to install.

: Wednesday 23 June, 2010

I ordered Parkng Dynamics product, since I was concerned about scratching a bumper while backing up into some unexpected obstacles, which happened to me several times already. In the same time I didn't want to drill anything in the bumper nor calling a specialist to install the equipment for me. Then I found there's a solution for my problem. Even though I ordered overseas the package arrived within 10 days of the decision time. I wish they provided a detailed instruction on how to take your bumper off right out of the box, however after looking for a minute I found a nice review with pictures for Honda Civic. Identifing backing light was pretty easy and gluing adhesive antena on the inner side of the bumper was really easy. By accident I have learnt that I could use a part called 'splice' to connect Parking Dynamics to the back light. This way I avoided cutting factory cables in the car and the installation was straight forwads. They could attach that part to make life easier for everybody. Tests show pretty good performance, hadn't had a chance to test raining conditions yet, however while approaching an obstacle in the back I can definitely hear the beeping noise and I know when to stop to avoid problems. Overall I think it's a pretty decent replacement for those drill-in proximity sensors and I would definitely recommend buying it to everybody who care about their cars including bumper scratches + other problems :_

Alvin Ashman: Monday 21 June, 2010

I began to install my PD1 Parking Sensor on Wednesday the 16th June, I attached the visual display to my rear-view mirror and passed the cable out through the front interior light. I then attempted to remove the rear bumper but had little success, frustrated and dishearten, I cut my losses and called it a day. I prepared myself to complete the install on Saturday the 19th June, I got myself down to the nearest "Halfords" and bought an Audi A4 car manual which give invaluable advice and diagrams to remove all bumpers and internal trim. I completed the installation and am very happy with the results.

Mr I Halmonroyd: Monday 07 June, 2010

I recently bought one of these for a DIY install on the rear of my 2007 Passat Estate. Installation is very easy for someone with average DIY skills. I found it most useful to research bumper removal and connection to the reversing lamp circuit in online forums first. As I have a tow bar cross-member behind the bumper I fitted two antenna strips. If anything, the sensor is a little too sensitive as it detects the dropped kerb between my drive and the road but I prefer this to being not sensitive enough. Although initially apprehensive about using this type of sensor as opposed to the more common ultrasonic type, I can thoroughly recommend this product.

Robert Estes: Sunday 16 May, 2010

I was about to drill holes in the bumper of my 2008 Mitsubishi Evolution MR when I came across the Parking Dynamics system. I installed one foil stripe at the 55 cm mark on the bumper. It has detected several objects that I could not see due to the high trunk lid of the Evo. Nice product. I highly recommend it.

Gary E Kaldor: Friday 14 May, 2010

We installed the front sensors into a customer's 2005 Aston Martin DB9. Because the car is so low to the ground, he was constantly hitting the parking curbs. We installed the sensor in the lower portion of the front spoiler, and it detects the parking curbs without fail. Best of all, the car looks completely stock. Thank you!

I can't believe the ease by which the parking sensor was fitted and we just love the discrete 'hidden' sensor design. What a difference the PD1 makes to both mine and my wife's parking and reversing.

The audible alert keeps our attention to a maximum level and really helps with tight parking spaces.
